Custom Wood Beams

There are a number of ways that can help you end up with a superb wooden interior that will earn you praise from everyone who visits your place.

For instance, wood beams are an excellent option for dressing up a plain room. These beams add dimensions to the room and beautify it in a manner that adds character to even a plain room.  The custom-made wood beams from Kline wood Co are not just meant for renovations in residential houses, they are quite useful and serve a good purpose in commercial establishments as well.

Kline Wood Co is known for coming up with a variety of wood beams that can serve different purposes as well according to your needs. There are a number of beams that serve different purposes and requirements such as box beams, solid beams, hand-hewn beams, and much more.

Ceiling Beams

There are two different types of wood beams used for ceilings

Your first option is a solid beam, these require substantial blocking to be installed inside the ceiling structure to be able to support the weight.

Your second option is a box beam which is 4/4 material of your choice milled down and fabricated into a U shape. From there when we install box beams we install nailers on the ceiling first into joists or blocking in the ceiling along with the header plate at each joining wall. Then we slide the box beams over top of the nailers and nail the beam into place and fine tune it and solidify the connection to the nailers with structurally rated trim type screws.

Box Beams

Box beams are the beams that apart from using plywood sheets are made using sections of lumber.  Box beams are usually hollow from inside and are also known as box girders. Box beams when added to ceilings add support as well visual appeal to the room. In terms of fittings, the popular beams are the ones that come as three-sided box beams, although four-sided box beams are also in use, in small proportions. Box beams are made from your choice of 4/4 material and are then fabricated into U shape after the box beam are installed using nailers.

Solid Beams

Solid beams need substantial blocking that is to be installed inside the ceiling structure so as to support the weight.

Solid beams are not hollow unlike box beams and are re-dried before installation so as to kill the insects that may be residing in the wood.

Wood Beam Fireplace Mantel

Fireplace beams can be built the same as the ceiling beams while solid beams are more common in this application, we can also fabricate a box mantel that in some cases are more beneficial such as if you're not wanting to remove an old mantel and would like the design a new one to slide over the old one. See our Fireplace Mantel Page for more information!

Hand Hewn Beams

Hand hewn beams are the logs that have been transformed into flat sides from the round shapes that are natural to them. The unmistakable marks on the beams that are left due to this transformation process add further character and authenticity to the wood thereby giving your interiors a classy look.
